Jeremiah Parvin, Coach
Jeremiah started coaching CrossFit while stationed on Air Force bases overseas in Kuwait and Afghanistan. In addition to his Level 1 CrossFit Certification, Jeremiah has also participated in the CrossFit Weightlifting Cert. Before starting to coach at Wildcat in December 2018, Jeremiah also completed the rigorous 25 Hour Wildcat CrossFit Coaching Internship.
Jeremiah has been crossfitting for over six years, with his first workout being the “Filthy 50.” He first heard about CrossFit from a buddy at work, after deciding to quit cycling for fitness due to safety concerns. “I wish I had found CrossFit earlier,” he said. “For me, coming to the box, having someone else program the workouts, with constant motivation from [my] fellow crossfitters has me hooked.”
Because he travels for work, Jeremiah has had the opportunity to drop in at CrossFit gyms around the world, including at CrossFit Reykjavik, in Iceland. Despite often being the only person in class who doesn’t speak the language, the universality of CrossFit makes it easy to relate. “No matter the language spoken, everybody wants you to do your best and get a great workout,” Jeremiah explained.
He and his wife, Vanessa, have been married for over 11 years, and have 4 kids ranging in age from six to 10 years. As for his day job, Jeremiah is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force and an A-10C Evaluator Pilot at Davis-Monthan AFB. “I routinely fly twice a week,” he said, “So there is a chance if you look up on any given day, it could be me flying!”
Jeremiah coaches Wildcat group classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 5:30 am and 6:30 am. He is also available for one-on-one Personal Training. “I enjoy helping and encouraging all athletes to make small improvements in strength, conditioning and mobility,” Jeremiah said. “Nothing is better than celebrating PRs and ‘first times’!”
Baily Wellman, Coach
Coach Baily has been active and involved in sports for as long as she can remember. She started playing Soccer at 4 years old and continued throughout high school, as well as playing intermurals in college. She also played Softball and Cross Country throughout middle school and high school. During college Baily continued playing Soccer and also began her CrossFit journey.
Baily’s mom was the one who first invited to her to do CrossFit with her. She had fallen in love with it and she wanted to share it with Baily! And Coach Baily is SO glad she did! Baily first joined Wildcat CrossFit in 2012. She fell in love with the sport, the competitiveness, and the community. “I decided that I wanted to begin coaching because I wanted to bring the same excitement, competitiveness, and community to all the classes that I coach,” Baily says. “I want all of our members to fall in love with the sport and make exercising a part of their everyday lives. I love teaching and I love CrossFit, it’s the perfect combination!
Becki Peduchi Major, Coach
Born and raised in Tucson, Az. Graduated from Flowing Wells High School in 1981. Went to the U of A and graduated with a BS in Exercise and Sport Science in 1987. Later received a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from NAU.
My background is in swimming and bodybuilding. I have several Titles in bodybuilding including a National Title in the Middle-weight class of the USA Natural Championships 1995.
I am the Mom of two wonderful kids age 25 and 20.
I have been a teacher at Salpointe Catholic High School since 1987. Subjects I have taught are weight training, aerobics, biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science and Anatomy & Physiology. Currently I teach on-level biology and A & P. I also have a swimming coaching background as I coached a local high school team for 14 years between 1984-1999.
The thing I love about coaching is that it comes rather naturally to me since I’ve basically been coaching and teaching my whole life. I feel I add to the environment at Wildcat in terms of my motivation for each individual athlete on the floor. I feel my knowledge of breaking down skills, especially for the new members is one of my strong attributes. I look forward to continuing my coaching career at Wildcat.
Cassandra Coronado, Coach
My name is Cassandra Coronado, but most call me Cassie. I am 23 years old from Yuma AZ and moved to Tucson to attend The University of Arizona. I was always physically active, in high school I ran Cross Country and track (shocker I know) and played soccer as well and after that I changed over to simple bodybuilding looking more for the aesthetic than anything else. Soon after my first year of college, I had hit a plateau both mentally and physically, I knew I wanted something that would challenge me everyday and would keep me on my toes. This is where my CrossFit journey began, I remember after my first intro session, I was hooked and have not looked back since.
Wildcat CrossFit was the first gym I ever joined and I have never been more grateful to find a place that has helped me not only myself physically but mentally as well and to find a community that lifts you up as much as the one at wildcat does is unmatchable. Nothing has ever made me feel as powerful and confident as CrossFit has and I am beyond grateful for that. I started my coaching journey the summer of 2020 and hope to help promote that same environment and feeling for all of my athletes. Since then I have earned a bachelor’s degree in Care, Health and Society for the U of A and am currently working on attaining a Masters in Nursing. I am excited and beyond grateful to be a part of this team.
